Friday nights at the Boyd Observatory
People who love the stars and come to Aiken, South Carolina might just want to keep their Friday nights open to visit the Boyd Observatory. It is the perfect place to learn about the nighttime sky. The observatory has a professional staff and some of the latest equipment needed to get a good look at the heavens. The staff does their best to help answer all of the youngster's questions about the stars, and even provide some basic science and astronomy lessons during their Friday evening programs. Both adults and children will have a good time when they come up to the Body Observatory for one of the programs. Although it isn't required and walk-ins are welcomed, it just makes good sense to get a hold of the observatory ahead of time to register your place. After all, the observatory can only hold twelve people, and you will have to wait until all of the registered used have had a turn at the telescope. You might even miss out on some parts of the program. This makes for a fun trip for everyone who wants to get out under the stars and explore the mysteries of space up close… well, at least through a telescope!
